A Letter from Jane Green

Dear library patrons:

I am completely thrilled to tell you all about Falling, out today! This story is particularly dear to me as it is my first big love story since Jemima J, and drawn partly from my own love story. Ten years ago, I moved to a tiny beach cottage in Westport, Connecticut. Despite not really liking the beach, nor the feeling of sand between my toes, I fell completely in love with living there…and Fallingshortly thereafter fell completely in love with my landlord… Reader, I married him. I have often been asked whether I would write our story and I have always said no … until now.

This is a story of an English girl renting a beach cottage in a quest to find happiness and herself, only to fall in love with her landlord, and his quirky, sometimes difficult, six-year-old son. This may sound like my story but it is the story of Emma and Dominic. This is a story of a girl whose life doesn’t go as planned, when fate intervenes to threaten everything Emma holds dear…

This is a story of changes in life, and selfless love. Follow Emma’s journey to discover who she is truly meant to be…

I hope you hold this story as close to your heart as I have to mine. Thank you for accompanying me on the journey all these years; librarians, too, as many of you know, also hold a special place close to my heart.

With Love,
Jane
